Thoppans’ Swimming Academy is an organisation functioning for the development of Swimming as a sport, lifesaving skill and fitness exercise. The trust is lead by few former International and National swimmers and coaches who have been in the professional swimming arena since past 50+ years. Being the primary objective is to make everybody swimming literate, we also train and prepare our swimmers to compete in aquatic championships and inculcate the true sportsmanship in them. We provide facilities and run our programmes through our multiple centres and partner network. The academy also conducts short term and long term certification and internship programmes on swimming training, lifeguard and swimming pool maintenance and management. Around 100 trainees of ours are working as swimming trainers, lifeguards and swimming pool care takers in various schools and clubs across India and abroad. Since the inception of the academy in 1998, 15,000+ people were taught swimming, 500+ State, National & International level professional swimmers have been trained and in that more than 200+ professional swimmers earned their careers in army, navy, air-force, paramilitary forces, police, schools, government, semi-government and private organisations. Also 200+ swimmers have got their higher education opportunities in medicine, engineering and other fields of studies by claiming their performances in swimming.
